Aqua Pumpkin: Another Witchy Wine

Many Moons ago I wrote about Witchy Wine. Alas, my corner wine store no longer carries Les Sorcieres, but today I found a new one: Aqua Pumpkin.

The label you see here is from a Chardonnay, although I'm drinking the 2004 Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir. It's terrific - flavorful and earthy. I wish I had a better image of their label, because it's a perfect complement to Blogickal, with a color scheme of purple, green and orange. And of course the Aqua Pumpkin proudly displayed in the center.

From the label:

Aqua Pumpkin came about from the chance positioning of children's crayons, harvest sleep deprivation and a sense of humor.

Pour the sunshine, enjoy the playground, and always share.

Could there be a more perfect wine for witches who are so inclined?

you have the cutiest blog! pumpkin wine? wine made of pumpkins! yum :D

Actually, it isn't made of pumpkins. The winemaker fell asleep at a table and when he woke up saw an aqua crayon and a pumpkin crayon next to each other. He though it would be fun to use that as the name for a wine. So, alas, the wine is made of grapes. But it's still very yummy!

Have you seen the cat shaped wine bottles? I think the winary is Mosel, but I am terrible with names. They have a black cat that is a red wine & and pink cat that is a white. Pretty decent for an inexpensive bottle. We also really like the Gnarley Head wine, and I picked up a French "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" bottle at World Market on a whim and it turned out to be pretty good! We took a chance on some of these for our Halloween party last year because the bottles were cool, and have been drinking them ever since!

Kathy, I haven't seen the cat-shaped bottles you mentioned but will definitely keep my eye out. They sound like such fun! Thanks for the tip.

Got the names! The cat bottles are a German wine called "Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Reidling Qualitatswein", and the French bottle was a Pinot-Noir called "Pinot Evil, Vin de Pays de I'lle de Beaute' ". Gnarley Head is an Old Vine Zinfendel out of Manteca, Ca. - enjoyed them too much this weekend! Oi!
