Batten Down the Hatches, Mercury's Going Retrograde
Tomorrow, Mercury goes Retrograde in the sign of Pisces and will travel through Aquarius before it goes Direct on March 7. Lately I've been seeing Mercury Retrogrades as opportunities to revisit old potential and to return to things that deserved another look. But this time, I'm inclined to see Mercury Retrograde as the force that tends to fuck everything up. We're expecting a big snowstorm tomorrow night and that's just the vehicle Mercury could use to put a monkey wrench into air travel. I've been experiencing programming problems lately, so it seems that Mercury is just getting in a warm-up for the effects that it tends to have on computers and any other technology. Things just don't work the way they're supposed to during a Mercury Retrograde. Boyfriend stuck on the other side of the country for Valentine's day? Yep, Mercury is in Retrofuck. Time to hide under the covers and not come out until the New Moon on March 18th when Mercury will have itself sorted out again.
As the planet of communication, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain level of confusion. Mercury rules our "lower" mind - how we perceive and interpret information that we receive from our environment, and how we relay that information to others. Mercury has rulership over such things as speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts, documents, travel, the mail and shipping, etc. All of these areas of life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state. Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is not advised to sign contracts, engage in important decision-making, or launch a new business. Delays and challenges are more probable with Mercury retrograde. This period is best used for re-organizing and reflecting.
During this upcoming Mercury Retrograde, Pisces' influence may make it difficult to distinguish between fantasy and reality. It's important to stay level headed and avoid following whims or impractical ideas. Keep an eye on your wallet, keys, or important papers. Be prepared to experience travel snafus. Communication may be challenging. Your friends may want to communicate their chaotic feelings, so be prepared to be the proverbial shoulder to cry on. Patience is the way to make it through the next few weeks. A good bottle of Scotch, perhaps?

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm one of those crazy people who seems to thrive in Mercury retrogrades, actually. (I think I was born in one.) I'd been wondering why my motivation came flooding back yesterday afternoon...
