13 Tuesdays
Spells for Democracy is conducting a "13 Tuesdays" project, wherein all of the members of the group are working a specific spell each Tuesday leading up to the mid-term elections to show our support for Democratic candidates across the country. In addition to taking back the House and the Senate, we hope to support Democrats in local elections so that all will benefit from the positive change to be enjoyed when progressive politicians are working on every level.
I have been remiss in posting about this (and - truth be told - in working the spells) but from now on, every Tuesday I will be posting the spell for that day in hopes that others will add their energy to this effort to bring about change - magickally!
Today's spell:
Leave pictures of the opposition in the hot sun and call on the light of Truth to expose their evil.
It's very sunny here in Boston today, so it will be a good day to work this particular spell.
Having photographs of the people you are focusing on is a big help - and, as in today's example, they may be essential to the spell. You can also use campaign flyers, images of donkeys (or an elephant when appropriate), etc. If you don't have a local candidate, pick one one or two who live within a hundred miles of you (the closer the candidate is to you, the better chance your energy has of reaching him or her). ActBlue provides a list of candidates who who have strong stands and strong local netroots support here.
